Hi! My name is Hazel. I’m often referred to as the hedgehog lady! My son Mark works alongside me in all aspects of the business. Welcome to Essex Pygmy Hedgehogs.

 

 

Everyone asks me “How did you get into breeding pygmy hedgehogs?” The answer is very straight forward. I kept one as a pet and fell in love. Hedgehogs are amazing creatures full of character, mischief and fun. I enjoy caring for the hedgehogs and helping people in their journey to owning one of these fascinating creatures.

African pygmy hedgehogs are extraordinary creatures. Inquisitive, curious and covered in quills, these charming animals can make unusual yet delightful pets.

I can provide answers to all your questions. You’ll have an appointment time to collect your new hoglet with plenty of time for questions and guidance from me and then any after care – should you need it.
 

I’m based in Basildon, Essex. If you can’t travel to me, I can look at bringing the pygmy hedgehog to you.

Hazel is so lovely and helpful fell like I've known her for years got our little hedgehog for daughter for Christmas she has settled in already and loves being held and cuddled thank u hazel for making mine and Libby's Christmas love little Hedi so much already xxx
